Peter Rodney, MS, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC,
Vice President of Nursing & Patient Care Services
NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, NYU Langone Health
In May 2021, Peter was instated as Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, where he previously served as Sr. Director for Perioperative Services.
In this role, Peter is responsible for managing nursing, care management, social work, pharmacy, respiratory, and operations of NYU LOH.
In addition to his current role, Peter is also the Executive Sponsor for NYU Langone Health’s Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI+B) Committee for nursing. One of the missions of this committee is to support the organization’s vision of a diverse and inclusive culture to combat racial injustice within the nursing community and beyond. This committee aims to address identified gaps related to equity, by promoting and developing training and resources that would encourage and bring about a more diverse and equitable work environment. Recently completed projects of this committee include a learning series on microaggression, respect, and civility that aim to encourage managers and employees to communicate openly and respectfully; and the other project is a Nursing DEI+B Newsletter which is dedicated to increasing awareness of DEI+B.
As a leader in this healthcare institution, Peter’s goal is to continue to innovate and raise the bar in the quality of orthopedic care that the hospital provides, as well as to promote diversity and equality in the organization.
Peter has also served in the military. He was deployed to Kuwait during the Desert Storm Operations before he transitioned to healthcare.
