Shireen Sakizadeh McConnell is the founder and Executive Director of MN Mental Health Advocates (MNMHA). MNMHA serves the healthcare worker population by connecting them to mental health resources and services specific to their needs. Shireen is dedicated to creating safe avenues for healthcare professionals to receive services for mental health concerns and substance use disorders that are restorative rather than punitive. Her organization also offers training sessions to educate the population on current barriers to access, risks of untreated mental illness, and how to engage their institution's administration to create meaningful change in policies and protocols regarding mental health and wellness. Shireen and the team at MNMHA are diligently partnering with other leading organizations, legislators, and academic institutions to increase the effectiveness and reach of their life changing and life saving advocacy work.
